Housing Association Administrator

Hours:                              Full time (Mon. – Fri. – 37 hours p/w)

Description:

Newington HA is looking to recruit a full-time Housing Association Administrator who will provide administrative support for core business functions and will be managed by the relevant Head of Department. The Head of Department will allocate work tasks and provide direction on all requirements.

The successful applicant will also be required to provide a confidential, effective, and efficient administration service to all tenants, residents and customers and provide assistance to all colleagues as part of a team.

 

Essential Criteria – Candidates must have:

Education and Training Attainments:

  • A minimum of 2 years administration experience within the last 3 years in a busy office environment AND 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) including Mathematics and English Language.

     OR

  • 5 years relevant experience in a busy office environment.

Relevant Experience:

  • Experience in providing high quality customer service.
  • Effective planning, prioritising, and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure.

Knowledge and Understanding:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the application of software packages.
  • Computer literacy / use of IT systems including Microsoft Office.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Confident, dependable, adaptable, and able to work on own initiative.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and collaborative style of working in a team environment.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Discreet in dealing with confidential information.

Special Conditions:

  • Availability to work outside normal office hours.

 

Desirable Criteria:

Education and Training Attainments:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Office Administration

Relevant Experience:

  • Previous experience of working in administration within a property / housing environment.
  • Experience in preparing Agendas and recording Minutes of meetings.
  • General reception duties (i.e., call handling and dealing with general enquiries.

Knowledge and Understanding:

  • Knowledge of or experience of working in the Social Housing Sector.

 

Main Terms and Conditions of Employment

  1. Salary for the post is currently NJC Scale 4 – Point 8 (£22,777) per annum plus Employer Pension Contribution of 19.5%.
  2. The post is a full-time position (37 hours per week) with an initial 6-month probationary period.
  3. Applicant will be eligible to join the NILGOSC (Northern Ireland Local Government Officers’ Superannuation Committee) contributory pension scheme.
  4. Non-essential mileage allowance will be paid to the post holder.
  5. Annual Leave: Commencing at 22 days initially, rising to 27 days after 5 years, 30 days after 10 years rising to 32 after 20 years’ service, plus 11 recognised statutory holidays.
  6. Location – The role is based at 300 Limestone Road, Belfast, BT15 3AR; however, the post holder may be expected to be able to travel throughout Northern Ireland and occasionally further afield.
