Board Members Recruitment
Newington Housing Association is seeking to recruit voluntary board members to play a crucial role in leading and governing its work in managing over 700 homes in North Belfast. In joining the Board, you will contribute to providing homes to those that need them and help create confident and vibrant communities.
About Newington
Newington Housing Association has been working exclusively North Belfast for nearly 50 years.
Newington provides homes for families, single people and older people and these homes and associated services are managed directly by a team of dedicated staff.
Newington also provides accommodation for homeless families in its Mater Dei facility on the Antrim Road and this is managed on our behalf by De Paul Ireland.
The Association works in partnership with its tenants and community and statutory organisations throughout North Belfast and actively invests in the local community.
The Board
We are seeking to recruit individuals to the board who share our values and will help us deliver on our strategic objectives. The board meets at minimum 4 times per year, and we hold a planning day, once a year.
Each board member is expected to attend each meeting, participate on at least one committee and attend necessary training. There is also the opportunity to attend events and conferences.
Although the role is voluntary, expenses incurred in fulfilling the duties of a board member will be reimbursed.
Can you help?
We welcome all applications for the role of board member and in particular welcome applications from those who have skills in the following areas;
- Financial Management
- Construction and Maintenance
- Legal
Experience in the public, private, community or voluntary sectors and knowledge of good governance is desirable.
